How payment works

Bookings with $500 MXN

A one-time online deposit (via Mercado Pago or Stripe) that confirms your tour and your group.

Online Deposit

The total is paid on site.

On the day of the tour, you pay the balance to the guide, either in cash or by card. If the weather prevents the tour from taking place, we’ll reschedule at no cost.

In-person payment

ANP fee: $125 MXN

Federal entrance fee for the Ría Lagartos Biosphere Reserve, per person/day. Payment is made at the entrance to the protected area.

Discounts on the ANP fee : Exempt: Seniors, retirees, people with disabilities, and children under 12— 75% off; Students and teachers with valid ID— 50% off; Mexicans and residents with official ID

Sunrise departure: 5:30–6:00 a.m., to take advantage of the tides and light.
Adult shad season: June through October. Juvenile shad: year-round.

Your tour is led by the best local guides

Jorge and Carlos are native guides from Río Lagartos. They learned to read the water, the mangroves, and the tides as children, and today they are certified guides with more than two decades of experience. They know the shad and sea bass spots that aren’t marked on any map, and they tie custom flies for each outing.
