Río Lagartos Experiences

The three park routes

The park operates and charges for them at its own ticket office. We do not sell any of the three: our focus is the boat tour through the estuary.

Harvest Route Safari Tour

By truck and in the shade. It's the one that goes the farthest and the only comfortable option in strong heat or with small children.

Pink Lagoon Route Bike Tour

Covers more ground than walking and stops wherever you want. Full sun the whole time: bring water and a cap.

Sea Salt Route Walking Tour

The cheapest and shortest: it reaches the main lagoon. A long hour without any shade.

What you should know before going

There are two charges, not one

The CONANP fee is the right to access the protected natural area. The community contribution is charged by the community that operates the tour. In the right column, they are already summed up: that's what you pay.

The park is separate from the tour

Our tour takes you through the estuary and the salt flats. The entrance to the Las Coloradas park is paid there directly to them, so you see it here to include it in your budget.

Children, INAPAM, and disability

There is a reduced rate for the safari and the walking tour, and free access for accredited persons with disabilities. Bring your ID: without it, they charge the general rate.

You cannot swim

The pink lagoons are an operational saltworks. Entering the water is prohibited and penalized. What you can do —and what people remember— is to walk around and photograph them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the price include the boat tour through the lagoon?

No. They are different things: the lagoon is navigated by boat from Río Lagartos and Las Coloradas is a park with its own entrance. Many people do both on the same day; if you want, we can arrange it.

Can I pay with a card at the entrance?

Bring cash. The terminal doesn't always work and there is no ATM in Las Coloradas: the closest one is in Río Lagartos, about 20 minutes away.

Which of the three routes is best?

On foot is the cheapest and goes to the main lagoon. By bike, you cover more ground. The truck safari goes further and is the only comfortable option in strong heat or with small children.

What time is the pink color most visible?

With the sun high, between 11 AM and 3 PM. The color depends on the salt concentration and the microorganism that dyes it, so it varies with the season and recent rain.

Do these prices change?

They are set by the park and can change without notice. These are the current prices since January 19, 2026; we check the page when we confirm a change.
