Culture, salt, and territory
We crossed under the Las Coloradas bridge to observe the natural process of salt formation and the pink coloration that dyes the evaporation ponds.
Jorge interprets the history of the salt industry: the sustenance it provides to the community and, at the same time, the challenges of coexisting with a fragile environment —the pros and cons of living alongside it—. If the weather permits, also the Mayan heritage and the local culinary tradition.
