The Nature Lovers Tour is an environmental interpretation experience where we visit several ecosystems (the estuary, mangroves, freshwater springs, wetlands, petenes (tree islets), and coastal dunes along the shores of the Gulf of Mexico).
We take a boat trip of about 40 km through channels surrounded by mangroves, where you can also see other bird species such as herons, eagles, seagulls, and cormorants. With a bit of luck, we may spot the two crocodile species that live here, as well as some mammals. We will also visit the flamingo feeding area, where we quietly approach without disturbing them, taking our time to observe this majestic bird and many of its characteristic behaviors that make it one of the emblematic species of this Natural Reserve.
After the nature tour through the mangrove channels, you have the option to visit the Mayan clay bath and the beach on the Gulf of Mexico (no extra cost).
To enjoy this activity, we recommend two time frames:
Morning departures: 5:00 am (sunrise), 6:00 am, 7:00 am, 8:00 am, 9:00 am
Afternoon departures: 2:00 pm, 2:30 pm, 3:00 pm, 3:30 pm (sunset)
(We can adjust to a schedule that is more convenient for you.)
The tour can start at our meeting point, or if you are staying in Río Lagartos, we can take our boat to your hotel dock.
It can end at your hotel dock or at the restaurant El Rincón de Río, where you can take a freshwater shower and enjoy the catch of the day.
Morning tour: includes breakfast on the boat with coffee and fruit to share.
Afternoon tour: includes local snacks from El Rincón de Río and drinks in the boat cooler at no extra cost.

(For families of more than 6 people, an additional boat will be required.)
Price for 2 people: $2,000 MXN
Price for 3–4 people: $2,500 MXN
Price for 5–6 people: $3,000 MXN
Entrance fee to the nature reserve ($120 MXN per person) is not included; this fee is used for the preservation and care of this magnificent natural area.
A $500 MXN deposit is required to reserve the tour; the remaining balance is paid at the beginning or end of the tour.
