Crocodile Night Tour

What is the Crocodile Night Tour?

When the sun goes down, the Ría Lagartos Biosphere comes to life in a completely different way. The Crocodile Night Tour is a specialized adventure that takes you through the mangroves under a starry sky. Equipped with powerful spotlights, we search for the unmistakable red glow in the eyes of the Morelet’s crocodile (freshwater crocodile), the king of the night in the estuary.

This expedition focuses on night-time wildlife watching. In addition to crocodiles of different sizes, we can observe birds sleeping in the mangroves and listen to the unique sounds of nature after sunset. It’s a totally different experience from the daytime tour: full of mystery and controlled adrenaline, surrounded by darkness and silence.

You’ll be accompanied by certified local guides, experts in the handling and behavior of these reptiles, ensuring a safe and fascinating adventure.

Note: This tour is ideal for adrenaline and wildlife lovers looking for a unique, out-of-the-ordinary experience. It is not recommended for very young children or people who might be easily frightened by darkness or reptiles.
